Equifax India-IFC partner for Self-Help Group Credit Reporting

MUMBAI, AUG, 2017–Equifax India, registered as Equifax Credit Information Services Private Limited (ECIS), a global information solutions company, and International Financial Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, have signed a cooperation agreement to work together to deepen coverage of Self-Help Group (SHG) member data in credit bureaus and enable banks to use this data in credit appraisals.
The agreement will promote financial inclusion and access to funds for women from lower income groups, by facilitating integration of SHG borrower data with credit bureaus. This will enable borrowers to get broader access to credit as lenders leverage this data to assess them on a more data-driven approach. The SHG movement continues to be a powerful tool for financial inclusion, and this project aims to build and strengthen credit data collection and credit bureau usage of individual SHG borrowers through a consultative approach.

Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) partners with Mumbai Dabbawala Association (MDA)

Mumbai, August, 2017 : In April 2017 in conjunction with the visit to India of the Hon. Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Sri’ Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) signed a MoU with Mumbai Dabbawala Association (MDA). Taking this MoU forward, on the morning of August 8th, MPOC and Mumbai Dabbawalas flagged off an event to create awareness for Malaysian Palm Oil and its benefits.


The event took place at the Lower Parel Bridge, where Dabbawalas wore the T-shirts and topis branded with MPOC message. They then delivered the dabbas carrying a booklet of recipes of dishes that can be cooked in palm oil and the benefits of using palm oil. NPCI records landmark volume of 1 billion transactions in July 2017

Mumbai: National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the umbrella organisation for all retail payments systems in the country has achieved a landmark of 1 billion transaction volume in July 2017. NPCI started its services in January 2010 with monthly transaction volume of about 50 million. In a time span of over 7 years of operations, transaction volumes have grown approximately 20 times. Mr. A.P. Hota, MD & CEO, NPCI said, “It gives us a great deal of satisfaction that NPCI has truly emerged as the powerhouse of all financial transactions in India. It is a great achievement to join the leagues of reputed payment institutions which process billions of transactions every month globally.” The 1 billion transactions pertain to all types of payments handled by NPCI from cheque clearing and ATM clearing to IMPS, UPI, BHIM, RuPay, POS, Ecommerce and also Aadhaar based payments.
